Brian Chang & James Yang, Classical Musicians – First Place
Brian Chang and James Yang are a trumpet-piano musical duo from Redlands High School. Brian was recently selected as one of only three trumpeters in the state for the 2018 California All-State Orchestra. James has also won several awards, including being the winner of the 2017 Rotary International Piano Competition.The two musicians crossed paths in middle school when their private teachers paired them for the 2015 San Bernardino County Solofest competition, where they won first prize. In their free time they enjoy giving recitals at retirement homes and rehabilitation centers as well as creating their own arrangements for trumpet and piano.
The District 909, Acoustic Musicians – Second Place
The District 909 is a soulful acoustic duo from Redlands. KimberLee (vocals) and Chris (guitar) perform their own arrangements of popular classic rock, country and blues tunes. From the likes of Stevie Nicks to Led Zeppelin and Chris Stapleton to Prince, The District 909 acoustic duo has it covered. Regulars at the Tartan of Redlands, the State Street Winery and the Oak Glen Steakhouse Saloon, KimberLee and Chris guarantee a professional and fun-filled night of live music.
Plum Ne’lly, Musicians – Third Place
Plum Ne’lly is a duo, Wendy Hunt and Mike Proud, bringing original songs as well as jazz and blues favorites.Wendy Sue Hunt is a singer-songwriter whose original songs are full of heart and humor. Growing up along the east coast from Nashville to Pennsylvania, her music reflects the bluegrass, folk, and country of her childhood as well as jazz and blues. She performs with Michael Proud, a songwriter and a multi-instrumentalist who has his musical roots in classical, folk and blues. He traveled extensively throughout the United States including Hawaii, whose performances include groups, solo instrumental guitar as well as a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band.
Ballet Folklorico Cultural Dancers
Our main objective is to enhance cultural awareness through the art of dance. We celebrate 31 years of providing dance instruction at no charge. We proudly share our programs throughout the Inland Empire including at the UC Riverside and Cal State University San Bernardino.
Spencer Dykstra, Juggler
Spencer Dykstra has been a professional juggler for four years and has performed at numerous events, including at the White House. He specializes in ball juggling and chin-balancing. During his summers he works as a circus coach for Michael Rosman’s Circus Camp Stars to teach children circus skills.Spencer is also a freshman at the University of Redlands, studying Communication Sciences and Disorders.
Kaden Hornung, Drummer – People’s Choice Winner
Kaden has talent well beyond his 7 years! A student at Soar Academy Charter School in the first grade. Kaden has been a drum student at Music Lessons Central in Redlands for the past year learning to read music but has been playing drums under his Dad’s direction for several years. He’s performed for various groups and events since 2015. Kaden is blessed with a natural sense of timing and a great attitude!
Fizzy Lifting Drinks, Rock Band
Fizzy Lifting Drinks is a band from Los Angeles, California . The group of friends met at music school and decided to explore the sonic universe together as one. Influenced by psychedelic rock, jazz, funk, punk, electronic, and all kinds of music, Fizzy doesn’t limit itself to generic constraints.  The band writes and records their own music in their home . Their goal is to have a good time and have connectivity with the audience and listener.
Paul Locke, Magician
Paul Locke has been performing magic since the age of 9. He is a member of the International Brotherhood Magicians Ring 254 in the Inland Empire of Southern California as well as the Academy of Magical Arts at Hollywood’s World Famous Magic Castle. He has earned “Professional Magician of the Year” four times in the last decade from IBM Ring 254. He also was awarded the “Paul Shartle Award of Excellence” in 2011.Paul owns a magic fundraising company called “Stage Magic Fundraising” where he along with other magicians perform shows all around Southern California for elementary, middle, and high school PTAs, ASBs, music programs and other various groups to help raise money for much needed educational supplies for those groups. Paul Locke entertains audience’s with comedy magic all over Southern California. He has also performed in London, Rome, and Madrid for New Year’s Eve parties.
